Job Description – Senior Consultant – C5(E3_1 Consulting) (EDI / B2B Integration)

About the Role 

We are seeking a technically strong Senior Consultant for our Integration Consulting team. The role requires deep expertise in B2B/EDI integration, Managed File Transfer (MFT), Integration patterns, and Enterprise Integration technologies, with the ability to independently lead complex global customer engagements. The consultant will analyze business and technical challenges, improve existing integration landscapes, resolve root causes, and recommend scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable solutions. Success also requires strong ownership, structured planning, customer communication, adaptability, and effective use of AI-assisted engineering and automation to improve delivery efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Solution design: Design, implement, and enhance complex B2B/EDI solutions using appropriate synchronous and asynchronous patterns, routing, transformation, orchestration, partner connectivity, exception handling, and secure architecture. 

  • MFT and connectivity: Deliver secure, reliable file exchange using SFTP, FTPS, AS2, and related standards; manage certificates, encryption, acknowledgements, retries, partner onboarding, upgrades, migrations, and recurring connectivity issues. 

  • L3 support: Own complex production incidents and escalations within SLA; analyze logs, message flows, mappings, traces, configurations, and performance; establish root causes, permanent fixes, preventive measures, and reusable knowledge. 

  • EDI and transformation: Design and review mappings across EDIFACT, ANSI X12, XML/XSD, CSV, and flat files; resolve data discrepancies, optimize logic, understand downstream business impact, and promote reusable quality and testing practices. 

  • APIs and modern integration: Implement REST/API integrations using JSON, OAuth, authentication, authorization, security, and robust error handling; combine EDI, MFT, APIs, cloud integration, and e-invoicing capabilities where appropriate. 

  • AI-assisted delivery: Apply GitHub Copilot and other AI tools to development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, knowledge management, automation, and agent prototypes; validate outputs for correctness, security, reliability, and policy compliance. 

  • Delivery ownership: Lead workstreams from requirements through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and handover; prepare estimates, milestones, dependencies, risks, and status updates; coordinate corrective actions and project activities when required. 

  • Customer advisory and quality: Lead workshops and architecture reviews, communicate recommendations and risks clearly, maintain solution quality and operational readiness, build trusted customer relationships, mentor consultants, and contribute to reusable best practices. 

Required Skills & Experience 

Technical Skills 

  • 8–10+ years of relevant experience in B2B/EDI integration, enterprise integration platforms, and customer-facing technical delivery. 

  • Mandatory: Strong hands-on SEEBURGER BIS expertise covering integration development, configuration, troubleshooting, and production support. 

  • Deep knowledge of B2B patterns, message processing, routing, transformation, orchestration, error handling, MFT, secure file exchange, protocols, and trading-partner connectivity. 

  • Proven ability to resolve complex L3 incidents within strict SLAs and perform structured root cause analysis leading to sustainable solutions. 

  • Strong practical expertise in EDIFACT, ANSI X12, XML/XSD, CSV, flat files, mapping, transformation, and the business processes supported by enterprise integration landscapes. 

Preferred / Additional Skills 

  • REST APIs, OAuth, JSON, API security, cloud integration, modern architecture, and managed file transfer. 

  • E-invoicing mandates and country-specific processes; SAP business processes and supply-chain integrations. 

  • Expertise in other integration platforms such as IBM Sterling Integrator, SAP PI/PO, MuleSoft, or Boomi. 

  • GitHub Copilot or similar AI-assisted tools, including practical AI agents, automations, or AI-enabled engineering workflows. 

  • Project coordination, workstream leadership, effort estimation, delivery planning, and technical mentoring.
